Hi

My front wheel bearing has gone and the supplier couldn't find the part number for it.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what one's I need and the best grease to go with it.

I ordered two 6201-2RSL bearings. These are double sealed and low friction bearings.

I use Motorex 2000 grease. Bought it when i build my own bike. I use it for all kinds of applications. Including bearings.

Hello. Did you find what type of bearings you need? I have the same problem.

My bearings are also gone after 20k km. The one on the caliper side is bad, but the bearing on the right hand side is really crunchy. A lot of play in the bearing.

I just take a look at the bearing- and sealnumbers.
Bearing: 6201RS. If i am correct, the first digits is a ball bearing serie number. Last 2 characters tells something about the type(?). In this case a single sided sealed bearing.
Dimensions of the bearing is: 12x32x10 mm (inner diameter x outer diameter x height)

I ordered two 6201-2RSL bearings. These are double sealed and low friction bearings.

The seal is a 20x32x5 mm (oil)sealring. I ordered 4 of them. Just an extra set of spare seals can't hurt.
Total price of the 4 seals and 2 bearings: €33,45 (including €5,95 shipping costs)

I just ordered them at an online bearing-shop:
https://www.lagerkoning.nl/

I have to see how to install the bearings myself.

I hope somebody can use this information in the future.

@freddie I've got bearings and seals on order, thanks for providing the specs. When you re&re'd your bearings, did you find an internal spacer between the two bearings themselves, within the hub?

Thanks for any info.

Hi.

I own a CPX since 2022/05 and I am trying to understand the problem because I'm not an expert.

The front wheel has two bearings? Each in both sides of the axis? And they need a sealring?

My CPX has only 1.900km. How to know the bearings are gone? Are these parts included in warranty? Is it possible to change then by your own without special tools?

Thanks.

@dobis Bearings are considered a wear and tear item and will have a warranty of one year in most countries. Bearings are on the left and right of each wheel, German then Japanese bearings are the best in the world.

You can replace the bearings without replacing the race if it's not scored, if it's scored you'll need a bearing press. From personal experience now I've got money, I'd pay a garage to do it. You can do it yourself but you'll likely ruin the race and your bearings doing it.
