Does anyone know much about the battery configuration? 

It says on SS website that they use 170cells in total. I’m guessing each cell is 3amp. That would mean 10 cells in parallel to give 30amp & then 17 of these groups connected in series to give about 61v nominal voltage. 

 

Fully charged SS battery is about 70.5v. So 70.5/17= 4.14v per cell.

seems like the BMS doesn’t charge the battery quite to 4.20v per cell which is probably why they guarantee the battery for so long 🙂

On the french forum which is full of Super Soco experts they put this schema of the Super Soco battery

it is 17 cells in line

as i know 30AH battery is 17s9p, so actually the real capacity is about 28AH

I think I have read 170 cells in a SOCO battery somewhere - it gives 17s10p.

69,7V/17=4,1V max per cell and 28ah/9=3111W per cell (17s9p)
3000W/10=3000W per cell, seems more logical (17s10p)

Then a TS battery can have for example Samsung 18650 2600mAh 3.7v cells and a TC battery can have for  Panasonic 18650 3000mAh 3.7v cells

my stock battery 30AH has 153 LG cells(LGGBMH11865), i haven't dissasembled the second battery, but i think it is the same. Furthemore i have 17s9p label on BMS.

so 3500 mAh/cell * 9 cell (parallel) = 31,5 Ah

4,2 V * 17 (serial) = 71,4 V @ maximum charge

Maximum allowed charge current: 1"C" = 31,5 A.

This fits with Tom's obvervation that 69,7 V do not charge to 100%.

why 3500mah? mh1 cells has 3100-3200mah

non-original 69.7 charger doesn't charge to 100% because fully charged soco battery has 70.1v, if he increase charging voltage to 70.1v, the battery will be fully charged

Correct. If you measure the output of your standard charger, it’s putting out 71.2v. However, the BMS doesn’t let the battery voltage go above about 70.5v I think. Which is kind of a good thing and kinder to the cells.
