Hello people.

I had a similar problem yesterday after 1350km the battery light came on with a98 and a88 faults. The bike had no power and stopped at the side with a big question mark over my head.

Took the plug out for a minute and I was back on the road. One km later the same thing happened. Did the same as before and continued. Later I parked the bike at home and connected the charger as the battery was at 40%. The charger only worked for a minute and then it stopped with a88 and a89 errors. According to the manual there is a problem with the BMS and the temperature sensors inside. A98 is general cutting of power and a88 low temperature.

I called the dealer.

Today everything was fine for the moment. I took the battery to the dealer and we tried to charge it and also put it in another bike and rode it. All was good. We e-mailed the Chinese to ask them about all this. The dealer has a BMS with the temperature sensors as a spare part available, so I guess if the fault reappears we will proceed in replacing it.

For the moment I am charging the bike and I will take it for a ride later to test it.

I will inform everyone about my doings in case this happens to another user.

it looks as if unbalance of one or several blocks of cells, I do not think that it is the temperature sensor

can't edit my previous post...

to test my guess, you need to ride again before turning off the power, if the charge will again be at 40%, so the battery definetely has unbalanced cells

I will test what you say. However, if there was an imbalance it shouldn't work today either nor be able to charge.

Right now I have plugged the charger to fully charge the battery. If it does charge, I will take it for a test ride for some kms close to the block because in any case I don't want it to leave me away from home.

For the history of the use. I must say that I don't fully charge the battery. I try to keep it between 30 and 85% in order for the cells to last longer. I also ride it mostly on mode 2 and not fast.

As for the codes, the manual suggests leaving the bike in a warm place. Because it is under warranty I will not open the case to check the cells. I can do that WITH the guys at the dealership and check what is going on and if there is an imbalance or not.

But I need to check if the problem appears again in the next ride.

I will inform the forum about it.

this may be the reason, because balancing starts at the end of charging(not sure when exactly, but after 90%). I advise at least occasionally to charge the battery fully (until the green signal). Anyway, I hope you solve your problem.

it would be overheating of battery or something inside of the controller. the motor was cold and the controller outside also. after starting and walking thing of 500 meters. it was very strange since the battery frame 10% was reducing in a matter of seconds 6% and losing power. I stop by stopping at 6%.
