Hi,

Ive ordered a Super Soco TSX, with 2 batteries included. Ive also requested the lithium connector.
The dealer, however, insists on placing a 60v26ah next to the already out of the box 60v30ah.

Im no expert, but I thought it would be best to place the same batteries. But I cant explain to them why. Can placing two different batteries do any harm? Will this have impact on the bikes performance? Or will it have no noticeable effect at all?

Hoping to hear from you guys soon.

Because we can use 1 battery at a time (officially), your 26Ah battery will exhaust itself sooner than the 30Ah. if they are somehow arranged in parallel, then you definitely want 2 identical battery packs, but this is not the scenario.

Did you know that there are 3rd party battery packs that cost hundreds less than the Soco brand?

@cubeyterra can you direct me to where to buy extra batteries for less than súper soco prices?  I need a bunch and factory stock is too darn expensive!

Like @chubeyterra said, if they're arranged in parallel then both packs should have identical capacity (especially if the charge discharge are a common port, haven't received my TC yet so I don't know if this is the case).

If they're connected via one of those switcha-things then you should be fine.

I bought it on AliExpress from a seller named "ELECTRICMOTORCYCLE Store". Be very careful to order the correct one "60V30A replace" is the one. Also, buy a couple of round-prong battery terminals from the same seller – the battery came with the flat-prong socket.

@cubeyterra have you already tried them? How do they fare? I saw the same one from "ELECTRICMOTORCYCLE Store" but wasn't sure if they were any good. Have you tested the voltage/capacity to see what they really are? How did you connect yours?  Are you running it in parallel to your original batter or a different way?

@howlerin I've been using one for a few months now. Its performance is comparable to a Soco battery — I can't detect a difference in voltage or capacity.

The ELECTRICMOTORCYCLE Store battery also has the same flaw as the Soco batteries: the Soco battery terminal that can melt down if you run the bike in 3rd with a heavy load on the motor. This can be mitigated by adding another connector to the battery and the bike, which relieves some of heavy current through the Soco connector. I chose Anderson connectors for this.

I'm not running two batteries in parallel at the moment because I haven't worked out which BMS shuts down the battery for that.

@cubeyterra link please.

Can you share more details like: price, how long was the shpping, did you pay taxes (customs, VAT), what cells are inside (are they genuine LG/Samsung/Sanyo) as original, or cheap Cinese cells?

Sorry for asking so much, I've been tempted few times until now, but I was too afraid because I could buy a creap for still a lot of money.

@alexaraducristian Price is on the listing: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000776208388.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.48b84c4dNn0DUc

Shipping time was about 4 weeks I think. It has to be shipped Ground.

I had to pay a small customs broker fee.

I have not seen the cells in this one as it is shrink wrapped in vinyl inside the steel case.

Thanks for the reply! Can you share a link to the battery from ELECTRICMOTORCYCLE Store? And possibly the connectors as well? I can't seem to find either one right now.

@howlerin This is the page for all batteries. You must pick the correct one yourself as well as the connector type.
