Hey guys,

I'm taking on a few projects at the moment. My main focus is building a second battery to put in parallel but also looking to replace some of the less-than-reliable parts such as tires, bars, etc.

I have been considering clubman bars, I think OD even offers one at this point, or even clip-on's, but I think it would require new forks or an extension to the top. While I was messing around, I decided to just flip the stock bars to get some idea of the look and feel. The actual grips seem to sit maybe a bit further forward than they would with the real deal.

A few quick notes on how I got it done. It appeared as if most of the screws put in were over-torqued and I actually stripped the head out on one screw on each side (the plastic box on the handle, not the brakes). I tried like hell to get the right size in, but there wasn't much budging. WD-40 did break one on each one, which was loose enough for me to put a screwdriver in the empty mirror holes and twist. I did this until I heard the internal positioning pins 'pop', which I had planned to remove anyways with new bars, This allowed me to slide the handles off the end. The bar was flipped 180 before rotating forward.

Anyways, I thought I share a pic in case anyone wanted an idea of what it would look like.

@whiskeyonesix I actually like it quite a bit. At first I thought I would be switching it back, but if you lean into it a bit more it’s pretty fun. It’s definitely grown on me. You rely more on the leaning for turning and can tuck forward for better aerodynamics a little easier. It feels sportier to me. I would think having the actual bars made for it or clip one that are a bit further back towards the rider would be a bit more comfortable. I’m 188, so my reach could be a factor. You can adjust a bit in that you can rotate them back up and towards you slightly, but I went all out with them a cm at most off the forks. One point though, I don’t typically have the longest rides either. Between 20-30 minutes on average.

@tezza

i do like the look. I've been looking into a set. I haven't been able to decide if there's a big difference or if getting the not-super-cheap ones are worth the extra cost.
