Hello,
EU user here.
I want to point out I have not driven motorcycles before, but been driving for 5 years and since I have B driving license I can legally drive the TC.
Last year I did a small test drive of the TC in the parking lot, it looks very nice, but the throttle response was so immediate and I didn't get used to it in my limited time. Now I see the test bike has a 3000 EUR price with 640 km, which I think is a great deal.
Will I get used to the throttle over time and will the bike be good for a beginner?I am planning on driving this to work ~6.5 km away.
Also, right after I live home there is like a 400m slope, I think it is around 5-7 degrees maybe? (not really sure), but would like to be able to climb this with my girlfriend on the bike at some point after I feel confident and learn how to drive the bike. The total weight will be ~130kg, do you think I will be able to do it a a reasonable pace (if I start on flat ground at 45km/h, could I say finish climbing at 20km/h)?
And if not, will de-restricting it help (I know it won't be legal anymore, but I don't think I will get pulled over by the police, and if I do then unless I am speeding they can't really prove I am not a moped anymore imo).
Also, in the future if I need more range I might create my own second battery for it, do you know anything about the legallity of this?
Any suggestions/opinions are welcome. Thank you.
De-restricting will not give your bike more power; it simply moves the speed limits higher for each gear. The power is limited by 1.) the battery's ability to deliver current and 2.) the max power of the motor.
Regarding point 2, the max power is 3000 Watts. The peak operating voltage is 69.7 Volts. So [I = P/V = 3000/69.7] the motor wants to draw around 43 Amps, which brings us back to point 1.
The battery appears to be rated to 30A (can anyone confirm this?), which explains why I've had THREE battery connectors actually burn and melt down.
tl;dr: Bike can't handle the current; de-restricting it won't add power; expect breakdowns.
I would strongly advise against getting a Super Soco, based on my personal experience over the last half year riding one.
