Has anyone had any problems with their battery not charging?

I’m getting red and green lights alternatively but not the quick flashes like when it can’t detect the battery it’s a slower flash.

Video example attached.

Talking to the dealer about it but typically when I took it in it worked but back home it doesn’t.

@Brighty Did you use your own charger when you took it into the dealer or did they plug your battery into their own charger?

@lhk both. The original idea was to use their charger to prove it wasn’t the battery, worked fine for over 30mins. Swapped it to my charger whilst at the dealer left it for 20mins and no problem. Got it home plugged it in and after 2mins I get the same problem straight away. Very frustrating.

@brighty and is that charging with the battery installed on the bike or direct to the battery itself?

@brighty supposedly the dealer should have access to carry out a BMS check on the battery. This involves plugging it in with a cable and running a piece of software. It says it’s part of the required service schedule but Iv not personally been able to see this carried out. Could be worth asking about this.

@lhk thanks - dealer doesn’t come across as knowing much about them, he’s said he’ll contact Super Soco directly.

@brighty try emailing info@vmoto.com in the mean time to see if you can get any extra info. They seemed to be somewhat knowledgable when I emailed them. Atleast it may help clear up what the dealer should or could be testing for.

@lhk just had Steve at SuperSoco reach out to me. What a nice guy he is to talk to... pretty much wiped all my anxiety about it away in one conversation. He’s going to call the dealer, he thinks it’s likely the charger so should be sortable via warranty.

Couple of other bits he mentioned whilst I spoke to him:

I mentioned I’d not managed to get the app working on my 2019 bike, he said it should work and that the app is updating next week so to try after next week.

I asked him about the 99 error I sometimes see whilst riding. He said it’s not battery related it to do with the communication to the controller and likely a lead is loose somewhere.

Had a bit of a further chat with him, sounds like the 2020 versions have had a few tweaks to them over the 2019 version, such as the controller being in a different place, the charger being a different connection type.

Will update if my issue is fixed by a new charger.

New charger arrived today under warranty and has sorted the problem.
Appears the charger was faulty rather than the battery.

All is good 👍🏻
