I have the error for several days now, the Belgian importer says Soco knows about the problem and says the cables are bad (the data/BMS wires break inside the connector). So the battery terminal is fine. There is no problem with the connector. So making sure the plug doesn't move (with foam) is not a fix. It only makes sure the break inside the cable doesn't move.

I have tested this theory on my bike. I opened her up, opened the sleaving of the broken wire and sure enough one of the BMS wires has a bad connection with the connector. See my video of the measurement:

https://1drv.ms/v/s!AkB62gmPn-IZh-xfSKwwuiFxZKwQ-g?e=28R5YL

So if you have this problem, it is not the "loose connection of the socket". Soco knows they have used cables with manufacturing defect. When twisting or bending the cable to much the thin wires break inside the cable.

They already made better cables and they are being send to dealers to be replace the defective ones.

I'll try to get one of these as I'm getting intermittent error 94 despite foaming it to stop it moving. It's almost like this post is made specifically for me 😀 thanks!

Do you know if dealerships in the UK have been supplied with the new cables? I have this same error and even had power cutting out mid ride which is definitely not ideal! It seems when removing the battery you have to be extremely careful as I don't recall using any significant force to move the cable or bend it.

Going to get mine repaired this week hopefully and would be nice to know it wont happen again.

Just to answer my own question in case anyone else needs the info - most UK dealerships already have access to the new cable with the internal wiring update. If they don't have the parts already they are easily ordered within 1-2 working days.
Sending my TC Max off tomorrow to be repaired, hopefully I don't have the same issue ever again with the updated cables but will report back if it does occur.

Hi, I bought a second hand 2019 tc max and have been getting errors 94 and 98, temporarily solved by adding copper grease to the battery contacts, but its not a permanent fix as the connector still oxidates with high power use. Its a first edition, I'm suspecting this is that power cable issue thats never been fixed. The bike wasnt heavily used by the previous owner so maybe thats why these errors have only shown up now. If this was a known factory issue, why were these bikes not recalled and fixed, including the ones that did not seem to display the issue (yet)? I don't know who to turn to, the dealer the bike originates from is out of range and of the 3 local dealers that used to sell super soco two no longer support the brand and the last one understandably prefers to keep customer service to bikes they have sold. Its just really frustrating because my bike rides like a dream if not from this issue and I feel it should have been dealt with by the manufacturer the second they knew about it by doing a batch recall and replacing the wire harness.

@neto yours is a tc max, it’s the tc models that have had problems with melting connectors not your tc max. Your first edition has a smaller pin size due to the smaller motor controller and only needing to pull 60a. The later model tc max has bigger for the higher 80a controller. There’s been no need to replace cables on tc max.

copper grease is not really good for connectors, use proper carbon conductive grease, it’s actually designed to conduct unlike copper grease.

@lhk topic starter has a tc max and is also from Belgium, like me. He's spoken to our importer who said there's a known issue with this cable. The dealers I've spoken to since I got the bike complained about having to replace the wiring loom on the majority of their (brand new at the time) first generation tc max's, hence why they either stopped or are quitting the brand. I know about the issue the tc models had with the square pin connectors that melted of welded themselves to the battery, and I believe soco did a recall through dealers to replace them with the round pinned one. I'm under the impression this is a separate issue with the tc max, but also related to soco using cables and/or connectors that are barely sufficient for their usage. In any case, this bike should not have the controller shut the bike off midride and it should not have a charred connector with normal use. It just pisses me off if its true that soco knowingly had bikes on the market with faulty parts that can put people in danger and left it to the dealers to figure out and fix each individual bike. Thanks for the tip, I will try the conductive grease, hopefully that works.
