There have been several threads about electrical problems with the TC and TS models.  By in large, it seems that the chassis, wheels, motor, and display appear problem free.  While some have put in large distances without problem, it seems that both models have significant teething problems with more than a few other owners.

What's the verdict on the TC Max?  Have they addressed their electrical legacy?  Are there any significant remaining weaknesses?  Are they problem free now?

The Super Soco TCMax is a well build motor, I haven't seen any major problems as I have seen on my TS. Saying that I had one of the first TS's in the Netherlands. So I had all the first weaknesses in the moped. Also Super Soco is working hard on improving the mopeds. The cables are replaced by better cable for example.

TCmax is a quite nice design and made. Pretty ok parameters combined with its price for most of every day riders (road to work/school).

Keep in mind that mostly people write if they face a problem (like I did). If everything goes right - most people writes no posts. ;-] But most of discussed problems are rather small and Soco services are quite responsive or can be solved by the owner. What appears once you ride different vehicles or read posts - some (rare situations) TCmaxes may be slightly different in sound or quality.

But in general - I really like that bike and if anyone asks my opionion before buying - I am for.

@Kurio99:

Ive had a Max from the beginning of July last year. I ride it 3 days a week to work, pretty much to full capacity each way (~26-28 miles EACH WAY). I have to charge it each way, as it only has ~20% remaining after the trip.  Im at around 3500 Miles on the clock.

Ive been through floods, hailstones, severe weather; I even rode the poor thing all the way home with 2 completely deflated tyres!! (That was weird. Still not sure why the tyres were flat! Incase you are wondering, the handling just felt like Id run over some oil or something).

Ive had cars pull out infront of me and had to do 'off road' to avoid collision.

Ive had to do emergency stops where animals run out into the road <10 meters infront.

Ive had to ride it till the battery was on 0%.

I would say Ive pretty well tested it hard! lol

All the while, Ive only had a small error come up once. (It went away before I could stop and look). That was about 6 months ago. More recently, it turned off whilst riding, but I suspect its because of the ridiculously-easy-to-press-whilst-in-the-pocket keyfob. Often it switches the machine off whilst I am putting my leg over to mount the machine.

Apart from them minor things, its been great! Hasnt really lost much power from new.

I normally get 40-50MPH on my journey. Sometimes it will get 60MPH downhill or if the wind is on my side.

I would recommend one of these to anyone needing to get places where you can go on back/B roads, or if you dont mind holding traffic up at 40-50MPH on a fast main road.

For cities, they are an absolute must!

Hope that helps. 🙂

I've had mine since the first batch.  I've had the stand switch go after about 150 miles, it was being temperamental again the other day but that was after a wash.  I've noticed that there is a build up of rust on the underside of the seat and a few other areas of the frame.  Also my front brake caliper siezed recently it was the middle piston which is fed by the linked brakes. I think from looking at mine,t UK winter salted roads have taken Thier toll.

I've had Scooters in the past and don't recall doing any real day to day maintenance on them and never having an issue with the brakes.  Now I hose the brakes down everyday when I get to work.

I do also notice an inconsistency with power this bugs me ATM as I'm never sure if the brakes have started to sieze again.  But some days the bike just runs slower than others.  I also notice that it sounds like the drive belt is binding on occasions.

I also experienced a flat tire one day but no puncture.  I think you have to stay on top of your wheel pressure as if it drops to low it loses everything.

All that aside I really like the bike and it commutes me everyday and also takes me as far as I used to go in the car.
