[Solved] How to delimit/tune up/de-restrict your Super Soco TS/TC/CU

Got a new Cux this week and it comes with a top speed of 55kph on setting 3 (sport mode).

I've noticed that it does not hold the max speed for very long before dropping down to the high 40's.

My feeling is that this is an intentional design to give you a burst speed to pull away from the traffic before dropping back down to the legal limit.

Whatever the reason, I actually really like it and I would rarely need to got 60kph anyway. With a top speed to 60 you would need to partially open the throttle to hold at 50kph which I find quite difficult to do. It's very much full throttle to no throttle except when filtering at low speeds.

I'd be reluctant to mess with this as people are saying you can re-restrict it to 45kph, but will I be able to return to it's normal 55kph?

You can do this trick as many times as you want! so from 45-55 and from 55-45.

My concern is that the max 56kph (correction to my above post where I said 55kph) is not a new max speed when derestricted but rather some sort of calibration. If that is the case and I derestrict to the max 65, will I be able to get back to this 55kph calibration or will I be down to 45kph as people have reported they can switch from 65-45 and 45-65 so it appears they have lost the original 56kph calibration I am talking about.

Unfortunately I would lie if I said something about the de-restrict of 56-65... Did you ask your dealer?

Ok so I went ahead and tried this out.  The bike is now successfully derestricted to a Max of 60kph.  In reality it's a max that is rarely achieved but it has hit 60kph a couple of times. More importantly for me  it will now consistently hold a top speed in the mid 50's without dropping down to the limited mid to high 40's as it did previously.  It's a small improvement but really does make a difference.

Also worth noting, mode 2 now restricted to 45kph (previously this was restricted to 35kph) but it does not have the "burst" of speed that it had originally.  I really liked this as it let you pull away from traffic briefly before dropping down to the legal limit of the high 40's.  But this is obviously something I can manage manually or by shifting between 3 and 2.

@toley Have you noticed that it will hold it's speed in the mid 50's?  If it does then I would say you have successfully derestricted it.  It should be possible to hit 60kph but it's only done it a couple of times for me and I'm a light 72kg.

My deristricted TC 50 will get to 72kmh before I have to brake hard for one of the many tight bends up here.😃

And I'm 12kgs less than you when fully dressed with a half-helmet and boots 😉

My experience with deristricted TC:

Max speed 68km/h with 100% -70% battery.

Max speed 65km/h with 69% -50% battery.

Max speed 60km/h below 49% battery.

If someone try stronger battery's like:

  • 60v35ah ?
  • 60v40ah ?
  • 60v45ah ?

I'm curious about results.

Sadly this trick doesn't work on my TSX.
Anyone have the same experience? Tried over and over. No luck.
