Hi everybody,

I’ve made 2 videos on my TC about a fast charger & headlight mod.

Thank you ?

I have just ordered the X2 fast charger for the NIU-NGT. Let's see if it works with the Super Soco. It is 15 A, 69.7V,  fanless, 3.3 kg, model number NIU60-FCX2 "X2 flash charger". Hope it will work. Thank you Tom Pattison for your great video.

I think they use the same connector if I’m not mistaken? I had to tweak the voltage potentiometer on my fast charger to 71.2v (same as standard charger) to get the battery to 100%. As in my video it only got to 93%. Hopefully yours will be ok though.

A fully charged super Soco battery should be about 70.5v (thats what mine shows anyway!)

on my Super Soco battery pack it reads "maximum allowed voltage; 69.7 V".

I guess charging it further will wear out the battery faster

Have you measured your fully charged battery with a volt meter?

you can also do the same with the original charger...to see the max voltage it puts out. Mine showed about 71v

I don’t think the BMS inside the battery will let it be over charged.

@tomp: My fully charged 30 Ah battery reads 69,9 V. The idle charger has 70,2 V.

Interesting,  very similar to my findings 🙂

Nicely done Tomp.

Are the switches on the handlebar protected from the elements?  My concern is rain.  I saw your YT video and the underside of the light switch.  I can't tell, but could water leak into that area?

2nd question...do you know if the lights / signals are operating on a 12v system? (any ideal?).

Thanks alot!

Sorry missed your reply! The housing seems ‘quiet’ waterproof but I wouldn’t spray water too close to it while washing etc.

Yes electrics are 12v. The bike has a 60v-12v step down inside.

The x2 NIU flash charger (15A, compact, no fan, thermally limited to 65 °C, 3.3 kg) has just arrived from Ebuy7. I need to replace the power plug (to european plug) and replace the NIU plug with the Super Soco plug. Here is a size comarision:

What’s the output voltage measured at the charger plug? I’ve since learnt that the BMS has nothing to do with the charge limit, it just protects the battery from over charging. So the standard charger is responsible for only charging the cells to about 4.15v. (70.5v)

https://www.ebuy7.com/item/566072441002

Color Classification: "N1S Top With PRO Version"

I paid 200 $ complete with shipping to Spain. The package is 3.80 kg. I had to wait 30 days for production + 3 days shipping with TNT.

I will test the device next week, because I have to change the connectors first. Its rated voltage is 69.7 V, like the Soco. It reads "15 A max, 65 °C max". I expect that it gives 15 A first until it reaches 65 °C and then throttles back. It seems that NIU has the same battery architecture (17 x 4.1 V).
