Hi, I've had a nearly new TC Max for a couple of days now. Loving it, however I've found that the battery charges when I take it out (charges directly) but not when I plug the charger to the bike.

I'm guessing it's the wiring between the side socket and the battery. There are a number of wire ends and there's a loose black cable in the battery compartment which has the same pins as the orange drive cable.

Sorry if this has come up somewhere on the forum- I did look. Thanks for any help.

Andrew

Finally found the answer to this. Not easy to find on the internet if you don’t know what a ‘transit cable’ is.

I bought the bike second hand and it had had one service already so it’s strange that the transit cable was still connected.

If you’re reading this because you don’t know much about wiring and you’ve got a bike that doesn’t charge unless you take out the battery then search for transit cable removal on YouTube. It’s a cable plugged from the outside socket to the battery which is only used for delivery of the bike. Then it’s unnecessary and has to be unplugged to allow the bike to charge.
