In my country I pay 0 local taxes, because it is electric (also electric cars pay 0 taxes and have special parking slots all around the city center).
Insurrance is different since they are private companies, but still for a <50cc and probable because it is electric, it is very cheap.
In my city the traffic is a nightmare and everyone salute and respect the bikers (including small mopeds like TC).
Reading about your insurance I realize your politicians love polution and traffic jams 🙂
in the UK you don't pay road tax for EVs, nor do you have to pay congestion charges in cities ✌️ (purely EV, not hybrids)
unfortunately in the UK, car drivers, and esp van drivers, are extremely dangerous, mainly out of ignorance and naivety, around both motorbikes and bycles (we have quite a few who are actively hostile towards both, and drive intentionally dangerously around them - imo no one on any kind of bike on a UK road, should ride with out a very visible camera)
