You know what? Ive had my TC Max for a few months now and its not really a problem. (Well, I havent had anyone cross the road infront of me yet anyway!)

Maybe the TS1200 direct drive is different, but the belt drive on the Max is actually loud enough to alert my wife who is inside my house when I ride past that I have arrived home!

Also the headlight helps with creeping up behind other traffic/motorcycles.

I've had some people step out though I've always been able to see it coming. Doesn't seem to happen much more than for a normal 125 which is surprising.

On EVs in general - I'm not sure why single out EVs at low speed. Plenty new cars are very quiet if just manoeuvring like the sub-12mph EU rules says so it seems like it should be a blanket rule if anything.

If anyone is interested to hear how TC sounds like Harley Twin-V, I've posted a separate topic (installation details included).

i love that EV are silent, it allows you to be more aware of what is going on around you, esp important for a motorbike

you don't have to ride a bike for long, before you realise that your safety on the road is 99% down to you; people are totally idiotic regardless of the amount of noise a motorbike is producing

our world is too damn noisy, if EVs start endlessly beeping or making other noises, its going to make life in cities even worse than it already is, in terms of noise pollution

the only concern i have is for visually impaired or blind persons, but unless they step out onto a road without using a crossing, which i cant imagine them doing except by mistake, it really should not be an issue - any rider who does not slow down at a junction, is not paying attention to people crossing, or ignores crossing rules, is driving dangerously and noise from their bike isn't going to avoid their inevitable accidents

I also enjoy the silence. I have a phone holder mounted on my handle bar... and start a playlist of some nice music. This is the way I ride my bike.

Other participants of the traffic... they anyway will not hear me, so it is only me who can anticipate and avoid any stupid driver (and there're a lot in my city).
