It looks like TCmax has this sensor of very poor quality. Below text is prepared to help some drivers who report on this forum problems with their SuperSoco which suddenly stops. Below you can find fix anyone can do in 20 minutes if you decide to fix it and ride forward. At last - to a free moment to visit service. 😎

How sensor works.

In short - when you set parking foot (open) for parking - it cuts off power for engine to ensure bike will not start moving. When you close it - you may ride. Simple support for safety.

Inside afaik there is a magnet which opens or closes circut up to position of parking foot. It looks it is a crap. I heard about these dead sensors also from dealer - they had same problem with exaples of TCmax they got a few months ago to test it before shipping starts.

What happens when it fails.

When it fails - you can see READY on speed meter but you can't ride. In my situation - "READY" was "on" both - when parking foot was up or down.

First failure was after 60 kms. I stopped in downtown for a while and cannot move again. Bike was taken to service and sensor was exchanged.

Second failure happened when I just started ride from my office. After some 30 meters of ride. Power was just cut off and I stopped. Friday evening with a way home ahead and no service till Monday.

What can you do?

Of course anyone can call for service. But I it takes time and I don't feel like trusting another exchange of sensor from the same pack. And I wanted to ride back home on my TCmax. 😎

What you can do? When you open left covers (black side and silver bottom), you will find a black 3-wire cable going from sensor to connector which you can see on photo below.

When you open it - plug goes up, connector down to sensor. It is a bit difficult to bridge 2 contacts in plug so I decided to work on connector side as you can see on photo below. If you bridge 2 contacts shown on photo (in green rectangle on schema) and plug it again with cable going up - your TCmax will get info, that parking foot is closed and you may ride.

How you can bridge it without spare parts? I just cut a cable below this connector (it goes to broked sensor so probably is for trash anyway) and connected 2 cables going from marked contacts. Of course soldering the cables and protecting with a tape.

I cut whole connector off as there is also 3rd wire which I wanted to be off as I do not need it to enable ride again. I can also repair it ifg needed in future but as sensor is broken - I really can't imagine why I would need to do so. Of course cable to sensor is protected as well.

How to park safely after above change.

When you decide to go that way please remember that protection (cutting off engine power) from sensor is gone. So use right orange parking button for own safety!

And it is still worth to contact Super Soco service with complain. This fix is however a way to continiue driving till you can get working sensor. And not a suggestion to remove sensor permanently.

Minimum tools needed:

- key to open side cover;

- tape to protect cables;

- optionally - soldering iron to make it right and durable.

Please note that any changes to the bike are likely against guarantee and may be a basis for some discussion with a dealer. But I am sure you may be strong in explanation of situation and your feelings about such crap element which ruined you drive/way home/date/whatever you wish.

I hope it helps someone if in a same situation.

Best wishes,

Peter

I am happy it helped you! 🙂 So far I know about other 4 TCmaxes facing same problem with this sensor.

Still waiting for delivery of a new set. Maybe they will be ok.

But in a meantime - I enjoy riding every day. Ca ~400 km so far. Earned I tank of gas for my regular car so far. ;-]

@docweyr I bought it recently and I only did 220 km all in Rome. I have a great time playing in full freedom in the center of Rome.

My service in Poland got a new delivery of these sensors some time ago. They replaced main 3rd time and since then - a new one works fine. So I suppose SuperSoco solved this problem. Or.. I am just lucky this time. ;-]]] Anyway - try to check your local services if they got new delivery of these sensors. Cutting is a work around. Effective sensor is useful.

Had the same problem here. New bike, 350km on the teller. 🙁

I like to bridge the sensor, can someone tell me which of the three wires, that go to the sensor, I have to bridge?
Colors?

Does anyone have a photo of it? That would help me a lot!

Thanks a lot!

It’s white and black. Yellow stays alone.
