Hi there, I am looking at purchasing a CPX in the near future.

Can anyone comment on how well the scooter performs on hills, given it only has a 4Kw motor? I have a few moderately steep hills in my neighbourhood and I want to be sure that the bike can handle them adequately. I don't care if the bikes speed drops off to, say, 30mph when climbing the hills, just that the bike will make it to the top! 😀

Thanks in anticipation, Kerry

I will not just tell you, i will show you..

take a look at this area. It has a lot of steep hills. I haven't had any issues with any of them. Climbs all of them. Of course, you will see a speed decrease, but it won't let you down and won't stall.

@voltaire_187 Thank you for that map link, your neighbourhood sure looks quite hilly! 👍

Hi Kerry,

The CPX performs pretty well on steep hills. In my city (Lyon, France) there's a big hill on top of which there's my son's school, so I have to climb a steep slope daily to bring him to school. That's my weight (around 85kg) + my son's (around 40kg) and I can still reach 50+ km/h, so no problem at all.

The only minor flaw with the CPX is the progressive power it delivers when accelerating when the scooter starts up. Up to 10-20km/h, you dont have the full power, it increases progressively, so when you are at a full stop on a steep slope, it's a little slow to get going again.

But it's only for 2-3 seconds, then you get full power again and everything's fine. 🙂
