My original controller on the front like were a radiator usually would be didn't work. It didn't have any special connector but i had to put in all cables manually to my rs485 thingy.

I have read the thread but didn't get the answer if he Pete was able to change the settings on his original controller or if he got the same but non-bricked one to do so.

It is true you can use any controller if you know how to plug it in and that you have the time to spend to make it move.
